Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II
Here's a rough mock-up of how I'm going to do the rockets. The kit plastic parts plus the Eduard brass braces and resin tail fin. https://i.postimg.cc/VLs3XvDP/IMG-5823.jpg I've dressed up the landing gear legs a little bit by adding the brake lines (lead wire) and straps (thin strips of aluminum ta...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II
Thanks for the comments, guys! I've put together the wheel wells. All of the walls are separate parts but thankfully, they fit very well. Very similar to the Special Hobby 1/32 Tempest kit. The only thing I've elected to add here is a single wiring run and a small junction box that was cut from thin...

Re: Where’s midnightprowler and jkim?
Hey... here I am! Thanks for the inquiries and I'm happy to report that I'm doing great health-wise. As Johnny mentioned, I do tend to go through periods of time when I'm not modeling. Especially at the beginning of the year when I'm traveling. Back on the bench and hope to kick out a few projects w...

Re: Revell 1/144 Hellcat and Tempest
And here I am complaining about how small 1/48 scale parts are! Great work on some truly tiny modeling! Those rockets must be microscopic!

Re: Kinetic Gold IA 58 Pucara
NIce work on an aircraft that is totally unfamiliar to me! And great find on the missing part. I'm always pinging things off into abyss. Even with the short industrial carpet, some things never turn up. UNTIL after the build is complete, of course!

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II
Here's a test fit of the clear parts. Looks A-Ok except the sliding canopy doesn't always want to sit flush on the fuselage. May have to resort to glue in either the open or closed position... we'll see! https://i.postimg.cc/sft6x9Tv/IMG-5813.jpg Jumping over to the underwing rockets. I picked up a ...

Thanks guys! Here is the bottom wing after surgery. https://i.postimg.cc/6qMXxRpw/IMG-5800.jpg The flaps were removed with a razor saw. A thin raised portion along the trailing edge of the wing tops also needed to be shaved down to accept the PE flap enclosures. https://i.postimg.cc/76D8CXCw/IMG-580...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II
Thanks Tom! Appreciate the kind words! Hey, you're no slouch yourself! Honestly, I think the cockpit details here are a little "heavy-handed" but I think that is residual from my 1/32 scale builds. It's hard to adjust the detail level to this scale because everything is so much smaller. Bu...

Re: Eduard 1/48 Hawker Tempest II
Fantastic work as always John. Even in this scale! Thank you John! I appreciate it! Repair....I don't see no stinkin' repair. Looks great, you'd never know you had an issue Thanks Johnny! Because of how the part broke, I was able to align the breaks so that the parts fit back together naturally. Th...
