Re: Cold snap and paint?
Considering the lowest temperature ive been in prior to this was -5C overnight. Lowest daytime was 5. Living in the sub tropics had its advantages. Moving to the west cost of canada has changed my outlook on weather. Paints dont seem to have taken any damage (used the primer, not so much the other p...

Cold snap and paint?
We had a bit of a cold snap up this way. Our high for the day was negative 8C (17F). So a little chilly. The garage where i have things set up is not too much warmer than that. I had a jar of water on the desk and its a solid chunk of ice now. My question is will this damage my paints in any way? I'...

Re: Im back, from the other side of the planet.
Went from tropical to the Great White North. If you are in British Columbia, I hear Vancouver Islands is gorgeous. That destination is on my bucket list. Whether I make it there, I don't know. Never traveled west nor to that part of Canada before. Gone to Ontario a few times ovrr the years. Ottawa ...

Re: Im back, from the other side of the planet.
Thanks all. I went with model air to use in my airbrush. Ive got 2 sitting in a crate in a warehouse waiting for a ship to come over. And an el cheapo in the closet that came with the little compressor I got. Tamiya seems to be available still, but vallejo is easier to get. Ill keep primer in mind. ...

Im back, from the other side of the planet.

Rebuilding my tools and paints, and waiting for my stash to arrive from New Zealand. Its sitting in a warehouse waiting for a ship. At this...

Do you have a particular aircraft and scale in mind? I have a few skyhawks in the stash and could maybe kit bash some together?

Re: Monogram Hawker Typhoon
Ive built this kit a few times. Its looking great. In my research travels 2 things i discovered. 1. Theres a thin white stripe behind the blue on the spinner. Such a pain to paint. 2. There was an argument a few years ago on a different forum over the colour of the spinner. A few eye witness account...

Re: Im Safe - Cyclone Gabriel
Thanks guys. Im seeing a trend, the rest of the world doesn't seem to realize how bad we were hit. Or that we were even hit at all. The stories coming out of the worst hit region are heartbreaking. Fatalities are still only officially at 5. But at least 2 more deaths are being attributed so far. Tho...

Im Safe - Cyclone Gabriel
Not sure if any of you have seen the news from New Zealand. Wide spread devastation in the north island from Tropical Cyclone Gabriel. Im too far south to be affected thankfully. I think theres a couple of us Kiwis on the forums? Not sure where the others are from. This is the most costly and devast...
