Re: Out Of Order
Good for you, Mike! I know you're ready for the bench! I got my first stiches, three of them on my right thumb, the day before JFK's funeral. I was in fifth grade and was trying to cut through an Elmer's Glue bottle with a butcher knife. I just had to get at that last lil' bit! Still have ...

Re: Out Of Order
Hell, the numbing of the area was so bad that there's no way I could do it. I hear ya. I had a cyst removed last year; I was on my stomach with my feet hanging off the table. When the doctor began numbing ( yeah, right ) the already very tender area, it hurt so damned much! My wife was sitti...

Re: best stereo system in the world
I've lost about 80% of my hearing in my left ear due to a benign tumor (schwannoma) in my inner ear. I also have a loud, constant "ringing" in that ear; over time, I've come to sort of ignore the noise and the deafness is most annoying when listening to conversations in loud places. It cou...

Re: Out Of Order
Just a little bitty slip, that's all it was. And that was enough, right? Sorry for this accident, Mike; that will slow down your modeling a bit. Hell, you'll soon be back at it so just relax and kick back for a day or two!  Meanwhile, listen to ol' Slim Hand sing about it  : https...

Re: best stereo system in the world
It would've been quite the experience to have listened in that room, on that system. I've lost so much of my hearing in my left ear, that I wouldn't get the full effect, I'm sure.
But still...Oh man, just imagine hearing "Electric Ladyland" in there!

One of the delights of the "Big Labowski"!
John, my wife tells me that we watched that, but I can't remember it at all.keavdog wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 2:28 pm Funny - I didn't know this when I posted Sam Elliot

Happy birthday Texas and Sam Houston
Today is the birthday of the Republic of Texas, and ironically, considering the great service he rendered to that republic and later, state, that of Sam Houston. I can't believe that a big-budget biopic of Sam Houston's life hasn't been made yet. As far as I know, his life and career are unsurpassed...

best stereo system in the world
This is something we don't see every day. There is excess, and then there is excess . This is the latter. Everything about this is incredible: the costs of the system and the room, the time involved and the dedication it required; all just over the top! An example; the turntable unit weighs 1500 pou...
