Jane's is an excellent source, if you are willing to comb through massive amounts of info. Like Stick said, if you can narrow it down a tad......

Those books break down the active and reserve fleet with a chapter on each type: Carriers, Ballistic Missile Subs, Attack Subs, Cruisers, etc. and each chapter lists each class within the type, all the ships within each class, assignment of each ships, specs of the ships including systems carried. The aircraft section breaks down into fixed wing and rotary wing types in service, their specs, and air wing/squadron assignments, including the Marine Corps. It really is an excellent snapshot of the US Navy (which the Marines are a part of) at that time.

Is this the book? I bought a used one from Amazon for $12 and just got it yesterday.

Yes it is! That one looks very current by the jacket. What year was it published?
