Well some folks have thought that since each one alone is a superior cleaning agent, combining them makes a better cleaning agent. It has happened more than once in the jails when inmate workers on cleaning crews (not exactly the sharpest folks in this sort of thing) have done just that.

Oh yeah, I was aware of that toxic mixture. I had heard that someone once almost got away with murder by mixing the two and placing it near their sleeping victim. Someone noticed the bucket though and figured it out.

Too bad this stuff is not available here in Germany. I have some chrome parts of a 1931 Cadillac I would love to strip. Ordering some from the States kills you due to the postage... :headbang:

Great! Thank you, Torben! Any idea on a mixing ratio? I am asking because the stuff we use here at home gets rather hot in temperature when cleaning... Not too good for plastic parts...

I took just half of a tea spoon for each of those 'shot glasses'. It's pretty potent stuff, so better take less and let chemistry and time do their work.
