LOL! I love Calvin and Hobbes too! I think I have almost all his books.

I've heard that if the parts were glued with Tamiya glue, if you add some Tamiya Extra Thin to the join, it'll loosen up allowing you to pull it apart.

It looked like they used Testors tube glue.

In that case, there's not much you can do except cut through the joints. As someone who has used tube glue extensively (and still does occasionally) I've had many a time where I had to disassemble something that has dried. One friend who also used tube glue extensively said that if you freeze the parts; it makes the tube glue join brittle enough to snap loose. I personally have never tried that but he swore it was effective. Your mileage may vary.
