Picked up some more Allied air power today...

Post by KennyX »

I like to stop by Hobby Town every two weeks or so to stock up on supplies. I went in today to grab some Mr. Hobby Putty (been wanting to try it out), and some Tamiya tape (because you can’t have too much of that stuff).

I like to cruise their selection of models when I visit. And I didn’t see this one last time. I think they’d just put it out, too. I grabbed it. Seemed like a must-have. And you have the option to build it with the wings folded up! This could be really cool.

Outstanding. I like those flying machines.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

This and that Hellcat that’s on its way ought to round-out my collection nicely.

The Tamiya Corsairs belong to the best kits ever released in their scale. In 48th as well as in 32nd.

Yes, the Tamiya F4Us are gorgeous kits! Great score Kenny!

I’ve got a great place to display all my Luftwaffe stuff. It’s in my home office where hardly any mixed company ever visits HAHAHAAA! I’m going to need a place to display my Allies stuff once that ramps up, as these are some really nice aircraft. I hope I can do this one and the Hellcat some justice. If I do, they’re going in the living room.

What’s your take on Hobby Boss kits? I know you’ve got a nice A10 going, so I’m assuming you like the manufacturer. Are most of their kits as nice as that A10?

The ones I've built have been great. A few minor fit issues but nothing I can't handle. Their problem is shape issues. The rivet counters bash them all the time for it. Apparently the A-7, F-111 and Tornadoes have shape issues but to my eye they look fine.

:P1:

I've built a few HB kits and I really like them - yes they have their issues but are generally enjoyable builds - which to my mind is the point.
