Yes, I have read about the start of digging in German news some days ago, too. What makes me wonder:

First, the officials deny the existing of such a train. Now, they count on success...

Second, a Gold train on the way to Berlin late in May 1945? This time, the Gold reserves of the Reichsbank had long been evacuated into a pit somewhere in Germany, away from the Russian thread. So, why sending a Gold train to Berlin? BTW: fantastic read "Monuments Men"!!!

I wait and see patiently for any news on this.

A friend of my great-grandfather´s nephew told the cook of a restaurant nearby that one of Stalin´s unknown sons has heard about a local trader that has seen this gold-sparkling train! It´s real!!
