I, too, often wondered myself. Did a bit of searching and this is what I found. I guess I fall in that age group. I’m not too worried.

My first tear was seeing dark floaters and million of tiny specks. The second tear, nothing. I did see clear floaters but that’s normal because we’ll always have floaters. They’re not bothersome because they do appear and often ignored.

I'm hoping for a full recovery for you Tom! I've been reading through this thread and your harrowing ordeal with interest because I seem to have a knack for getting stuff in my eyes. Once, when I was working as a painter, I got some brick mortar dust in my eye. I could feel something rubbing it in there but couldn't see a thing. After dealing with it about a week or so, I finally got to see an ophthalmologist who found a tiny speck under an eyelid and got it out. Oh man, did that relief feel good! Hang in there and keep us posted!
