Barracuda Roy’s Lockdown 2020 | Heller | No. 80229

Don’t mess with the shiners!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

The Aires wheels are shipped. I expect those by May 8th. I am still waiting to hear when the decals ship. The wings and fuselage are still drying despite the high heat. I predict I will UV Flat Coat the pieces by Wednesday, and assemble the wings after that. I still plan to flip the aircraft over to weather and refine the look of the metal panels underneath. There are some great photos of the Me 262 with bare metal panels, putty and weathering effects taken in high contrast black and white as well as color I am using as reference for lack of finding any source details for the K-4.

Your paint is still drying? What did you use for the camo colors? Oil paints or something?

Gunze and Tamiya are playing nice for the basic colors; cel animation paint for insignias and oil washes for the camo, yes. The oils usually dry faster with a touch of acrylic mixed within them to speed up the dry time:
“DUO Aqua Oil Color is water soluble, but the oil is identical to that used in Holbein Artist Oil Color. There is no special treatment. There is no modification or breaking down (cracking) of the oil. There is no water in the product, only the additive that is rendered redundant and of no effect in the drying process. The surface agent covers the pigments and oil, this making both water sensitive or soluble. That is all. There is no other ingredient present.”
