I know I'm nuts. But this a/c has been calling out to me, like a box of Little Debbie Peanut Butter Nutty Bars. Yes, the whole box. Don't judge me, Okay?
Anyway, this is the "white box" 1/48 TBM Avenger from Accurate Miniatures. I have a couple of the really old Monogram versions but many said this was a good kit. Looking through the sprues this morning, it seems to have a lot of detail. I'm sure I can deal with that in my own special way!@
This will likely not be a speedy build by any means....
One thing I don't like literally, right out of the box, is the instruction sheet. I need a larger print these days, so I spent time this morning scanning the pages, cropping and reprinting the steps. We shall see. It is so odd to see narrative instructions these days.
Here are a few pictures. Love the box art! It flew into a cloud just as the picture was made.

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Yeah, the Accurate Miniatures Avenger kits are probably some of the best detailed 1/48 aircraft model kits ever made.

Nice! I have the Academy version of the Avenger which I heard was the molds from Accurate Miniatures. I do have Acc. Min. Dauntless.

Thanks for checking in.
My plan, as if I ever have a plan, is to go slow and try to take some advantage of the details. May post some pics later of the interior green application. Simply stunning! A while back, I bought a few Humbrol brushes...yellow handle. They have a nice point to them and seem to leave virtually no brush marks.

Nothing crazy about wanting to build a good kit!
