Ah... good to know! It's always good to have an assortment of different putties for different situations. How long does it take for the Tamiya putty to cure before you can sand? That's the one frustrating thing about the putties I'm using... the long cure times. CA glue is the exact opposite and I can instantly start sanding but I find CA more difficult to sand than putty.

Exactly. In this case I sanded one side maybe six or seven hours after I put the putty on, and the other side the next day. Small amounts dry pretty rapidly, but obviously the larger amounts take more time. I think that the dry climate here speeds the process along. I’m still getting a feel for this Tamiya Putty. I do like the fact that Hobby Lobby carries both the White and Gray Tamiya stuff, so I can get it at 40% off with their coupon.

I am just going to add this tidbit here from what I know. Certain non modeling brands of CA make outstanding fillers. I currently use Gorilla glue from the Art Store. I carve a toothpick to make a flat edge and spread the CA on like putty. The Gorilla glue formula is thick and reminds me of 3M CA in the red tube which has a similar consistency. I am able to sand with 400 or 600 grit in about 7 minutes. I filled the seam lines on half the fuselage of the Zero this way.

Interesting, yet it's promising. Looks like I need to get me some Tamiya putty soon. I used to use the Testors brand and what a nightmare they are. Horrible product until I switched to Perfect Putty.

Over the weekend I pulled this one off of the sidelines and resumed work with painting in the cockpit.

Thank you Clint. I still need to do a light wash, and add some transparent green over the screens.

Nice work on the cockpit!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
