I don't remember how many times I've drove a #11 blade into my fingers I just know it's been a lot. I'll be watching to see what you do with this hatch interior.

Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear

Thank you Carlos, John and Clint. I have an engineering question. What I would like to do is treat the aircraft like a stand alone sculpture without depending on a base support. I see this as definitely choosing to make the project about the aircraft. I see the design as a tripod - like a camera tripod why not? The landing gear legs and the nose/lower cowling make up the three contact points.

Ideally I would like Matt to make a small pedestal base from wood which I could lacquer white. This way the project is more or less keyed on the aircraft frame and not on the ground as well. So, I think I need to weight the lower cowling a bit (B on sketch). I think. Thoughts? Anyway I feel I better address this issue next despite gathering reference on wing interiors.

Since it is on its nose, could you drill a small, hidden hole through the nose, run a rod inside?
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Cool idea, Lyle! I am considering about adding lead to the airflow bulges inside the cowling, as well as filling the propeller hub with lead.

Would that be enough? What do you fellas use for weight?

I think it might be possible to get it to sit like that without much help. With all of the separate panels, it might be difficult to do a dry fit to determine where the center of gravity might be in that inverted position. But I would think that the full engine would help in this regard. Maybe some weights up front?

It’s great to have confirmation, John. I completely agree with you. I think the particular aircraft may be sunken at an angle. Maybe the pilot “endo’d” the landing and the subsequent spin from the propeller revolutions in the ground sunk one of the gear lower then the other.
