I hear you Lyle on the clear parts. I have a hard time with those as well and am always worried when I paint them if I'm going to mess them up or not. Your build looks good so far and in this scale the clear parts don't take away from the overall good looks of it.

Beautiful job Lyle! Yeah, I also have difficulty with clear parts. I don't think any of my aircraft have clean, clear parts,

Hey, Lyle! It’s beautiful! Congratulations! If I had my druthers I would think fixin’ the windows is a task for some decals. Make them yourself in light grey blue smoke and cut them precisely to fit. I think it’s the edges that seem to be the most problematic and that’s how I would solve this. It’s also how I solved the canopy of a 1/72 X-Wing a few years back. I did not want to build the cockpit so it was time for a good tint job. Just a thought. Or thoughts.

Cheers,

B.

You gotta admit.. the Ford Trimotor was a beauty in its time. I'd love to see one up close.

Clear parts are definitely one of the trickiest aspects of any build. Very unforgiving!

looking good Lyle,

What is the issue with the clear parts anyway - just poor fitting or was it masking for paint?

The issue was mostly me. The windscreen fit reasonably well. I could not get the tape to stay in place and I rushed through it i guess. It was mostly the masking.

Lyle, what are we gonna do with you? :hmm: And what are you doing rushing things at your age? :tease:
