Magnificent work Stuart! And I love a lengthy post with so much to look at. Way to go man!

Thanks Mark,

Since getting back from Holiday I've picked this up again, finished the painting, given it a grim wash and fitted the brass gun barrels - since taking this I've also started painting them, filling the gaps around them and have fitted the main legs.

My experiment with micromask almost worked, there was one small spot that it didn't cover properly that I had to remove the paint, and then polish out.

Just fitted the gear... :hmm: I'm not sure about the stance - it looks to me that Airfix has taken it's dimension off a jacked up aircraft with the legs fully extended. But hey-ho, they're on. Time to paint and wash and touch up around the guns.

I need to finish painting the guns as well.

The landing gear struts do indeed look a bit “unloaded”. :hmm: But the 190 does have some long legs. How do the struts look with the wheels on them?

Far too long - the legs are at full extension.

:hmm: I've jacked up enough aircraft in my time to only assume they took the dimensions from a preserved aircraft that was supported on jacks (to preserve the tyres), or legs that have ben over pressurised. I can't believe even empty or stripped of equipment the legs would extend to this extent.

I'm just hoping the wheels, gear doors and tank will hide it.

Those look great!

Nice work Stuart, I like the white cooler armour ring (had really to look up what that part is called in a FW-190)

And from this angle those legs look very much ok !

Sabre looks very good, well done with the decals !
