LA-5 "Power Build"

Post by Fermis »

Needed a break from the current project, so I pulled out HobbyBoss' "Easy Assembly" LA-5. Very basic...perfect for a one day "power build"!

I started around 2pm, this afternoon. Even with a couple hours away from the bench, and another hour+ spent messing with airbrush problems, I still managed to finish it up before midnight!

She aint no show stopper, but will look okay toward the back of the shelf!

I still can't believe that you pulled this one off in about 10 hours... Great job!

Even when it comes to the building time I'm a die hard professional. I build at least as long as the manufacturer needed to develop AND built the original. :bag:

No need to put it in the back of the shelf. That's a neat one! :beau:

Superb build that Fermis.

I really like those HB Easy build kits - the Mig-15 is really nice.

The exterior on the Easy kits is really nice. The interior is where they lack. But they are a quick build that can really look good in the right hands. I like this one.

Truth.
They are good for practicing on finishes...and to get something on the shelf nice and quick...and cheap...otherwise :bored:

Very cool Speedy! Nice bird I'd say. But I ain't surprised about that Fermis!!
I bought the old 1/48 Hobbycraft La-5 from the consignment table at Kings Hobby in Austin, and want to do sort of a one-man "group build" with a 1/48 MiG-3 and Yak-9T that I've had for a while. I'm thinking an assembly-line approach since the landing gear and cockpits for each should be about the same colors. "Wings of the Red Star Triple Play!"

Uh, it might take me a bit more than 10 hours however. At least a long weekend...
