Here's today's update:
I have put the two hulls together, done some mud effects and dust effects. I chipped the paint using some regular silver paint on a crusty brush.
I am yet to do the decals.

That’s some mighty fine tank building right there!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

For a more realistic look, there is no need for paint chipping on any of the cast armor areas such as the hull and turret unless it is with battle damage from impacts, that will also leave small divots in the armor. Paint used on US tanks is extremely tough. The sheet metal areas such as fenders flex and will chip, then oxidize quickly. Edges of hatches and such will show only minimal paint abrasion wear even after years of use.

Welp, too late now. :bag:
I like the look of it anyway, but now I know for next time. Thanks for pointing that out

No worries Declan. Just file it away for future reference. I spent many years on or around AFVs in my misspent youth… I know that modeling gets divided into the “artistic” vs. “realistic” camps.

Haaaa.... yeah the separation between the two gets frisky sometimes... ESPECIALLY over at ModelCarMags forum... Oh boy do some people get mad about the wrong version of a distributor in a camaro or other such things.
