I don't often build armor but I got sucked in to this one because a friend bought a real one. I used the Legend resin conversion set and a Tamiya M4A3E8 Sherman kit, along with Fruil T-80 tracks. Didn't take long to figure out that I was a bit under water, as they say. I had no idea Fruil's would have 5 parts per link! Anyway, as I am part german and am not allowed to leave any food on the plate, I perservered and now that it is "done" most of the sensations of pain are subsiding.
There is a build log here: http://goldeneramodel.com/mymodels/armor/m74/m74.html
The big one:
The model:

Looks pretty darn good. The hatch interiors on actual vehicles are usually OD, and on the headlight clusters, the inner light of the pairs would have a black lens for active IR night vision devices.

That is a stunning piece of work! Well done, John!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Your friend got himself a really big toy to play with! The model looks really good and clean.

Thanks, everyone, I appreciate the comments. Carlos, thanks, I will fix the lids, I just painted them as the example given by Legend, not having much knowledge of tanks. Need to work on the decals a little more too to blend them in better.
