Dealer supplied option?
Looking forward to the build. Masterbox has a few figures that may work ;)
Thanks,

I've been busy off and on with painting the kitchen, dining room and hallway while I await our new countertop to be installed during the kitchen reno project. I did manage to find what little time I could find myself on the bench in between. So far I was able to put the engine together but not without a couple modern touches (air filter - unknown from what kit and distributor - from the '70 1/2 Baldwin Camaro kit)

I wanted to do something different with the engine color so I mixed a bit of silver, aluminum and red. The color wasn't what I was looking for and I didn't want to waste more time. The more I looked at it, the more I thought to myself, screw it! It's good enough for me.

Valve covers and fan using Molotow chrome paint. Decals still needs to be added to valve covers though.

Nice work on that motor. Yeah, the color is a bit unusual, but it works.

That looks really good Tom. I'm finding that it's a good idea to clear that stuff. It tends to tarnish over time on some plastics for some reason. Spaztix makes an Ultimate Clear Coat that works pretty dang good.

I wonder how Metalizer Sealer would work over the Molotow pen chrome?

I saw a thread somewhere someone used something for sealer on Molotow chrome. Just can't remember where or what.

I read it in an article from Scale Auto a couple of years back and then I got to talk to the guy who did the article last year over at MCM. Spaztix seems to work pretty good. I used the Molotow on my latest 56 F-100 wheels and then used the Spaztix. After that I was able to shoot a light coat of Tamiya Smoke over it and it all held up.

I’m going to take another crack at painting this one while the weather has been warm these last few days. Tonight, I’m throwing down the white primer, tomorrow during lunch a couple light coats and tomorrow night if all goes well, at least a light coat or two to finish off so I can resume building this beast.

I had a good painting session yesterday after work. Managed to put 4 or 5 light coats with no issues outdoors sinc3 the weather was nice and warm. The hood I had a spot that didn’t come out right. I’ll need to sand it down some and add another coat. Pics will be forthcoming later.
