I'm another one that doesn't get them either. They don't really appeal to me, especially when they have so many outrageous extras added to them, but I can truly appreciate a very well made model... even a well made Gundam model! Awesome workmanship always thrills me!

Think of a Gundam as a manned powered fighting suit. But on a large scale. A human operator sits inside and controls them, and they have various weapons and capabilities.

In Yokohama, there has even been a 60 foot tall statue built that has some limited limb movement.

That would be pretty close to the real life size.

Oh yeah. I also remember watching Pacific Rim. Now that was a good movie. I just look at some of the Gundams with all the excessive wings and attachments and just can't fathom them. This one in the pic has a Pacific Rim kinda thing going on.

John, I still play Battletech these days. We even ran a canpaign where our lances became more experienced with each battle and we could salvage and/or buy new 'Mechs to increase the size of out lances. What a blast!

The main Gundam is completed. Still only halfway there. Next up are the wings, guns, and other parts.

That's looking really good
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall
