Thats a really good idea about the masks and takes alot of work out of it. Keep the pics coming bud.

The heat is on in northern Germany. Makes the modeller sweat but reduces drying time.




Next are the black surfaces behind the exhausts and their white outlines.

Eagle Strike had the white stripes (great band btw. ) on their sheet, but they are way too short.

Tried some tear and wear on the prop blades and spinner tonight. The difference between the two green tones is marginal. I hope final varnish won't kill the effect.


Also some decals found their way onto the model. What a time consuming job...

Excellent masking and painting! Looks very realistic. I like the way the prop is turning out.

Man all that pre-shading is really showing through. Nice control of the paint to allow that to show through. Thumbs up here!

After some washing she's showing her lines. Used a blueish-grey made of oil color and lighter gas for the Hellblau surfaces. For the rest I gave the new Ammo of Mig stuff (enamel based) a try and I'm not sure if I'm going to marry them.
The colours are perfectly harmonised for the RLM tones, but they'e quite sticky and so less controllable compared with artist oils. Even on a glossy surface.

Ooohh, wash came out very nice and subtle. Are you saying the Ammo pre-mixed stuff is hard to make flow into the panel lines? Never tried that stuff so I'm curious.
