as promised, here are some quick pics of the progress I've got so far.

Revell/Monogram's Bf-109G-10, in 1/48th scale--Ill be building this one OOB. The only thing I added was some simple belts made out of tape. I got so caught up in teh process, I forgot to take pics before I sealed up the fuselage. Oh well.

. I always like to recommend this kit to beginners/people looking for a quick fix, because its a really nice little kit. The wing assembly pretty much snapped into place with no gaps.

This is set aside to dry overnight, then Ill tackle the seams in teh morning

Good going Owl. I like that kit too. I have one in the queue for later this year. What markings did that come with?
It's up to you how much money you want to spend and how many new words you want to create "correcting" something.

:whiteflag: :whiteflag: To the modeling gods :whiteflag: :whiteflag:

Warts and all, I'm calling this one done. I am afraid to touch it. What I like?
1. the kit went together fairly well for the most part
2. used Alclad for the first time and liked it very much
3. Discovered Mr. Dissolved Putty and was given help on how to make it work

What I didn't like?
1.. All the clutter around and under the nose. The nose gear broke in three different places.
2. The nose gear doors just sort of lay there.
3. gun barrels came off 2 or three times.
4. The big doofus behind the keyboard put the nose piece on upside down...yes I did. I did fashion a correction, though.
5. The decals were crap. Two went on with no problem....then the others simply fell apart.

Hence, you get one side picture and one showing a wing seam. On to the next one.

It is scary - i'm afraid to touch it for fear something else will come apart! A bottle of Mr. Color Tire Black has disappeared as well. Time to go kill a chicken!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

You finished it! Yeah Lyle!

The only thing I have to do is spray the 88 panzer grey but I still have not got a clue when to do that... it is just to busy. And I totally forgot I am going to Belgium this weekend........

It came with these two schemes:
Yellow 5

and white 11

but Ive done this kit and these schemes before, so Ill be sourcing some decals left over from the -110 sheet. Paint is basically what I have on hand. So it will be grey-green/grey over lit grey, with a red tail band and yellow ID on the nose and wingtips. Ive seen some pics of -109s with scallops on the leading edge of the wing, so Ill likely incorporate that too.

here's a couple of sketches I made when planning the scheme

but of course everything's subject to change on a whim ;)

so once everything was filed down and rescribed (hey, im heavy handed!), I masked off the canopy and hit the model with grey primer from krylon. I love this stuff, it goes down super smooth. This is sitting over night, then camo comes tomorrow!

Great to see all this progress Owl.

Just to show I have actually been doing something:
The Zvesda 88mm, a very simple kit made for the war games. But also a pretty accurate 88mm.

Great progress all of you!

Lyle I'm so happy you finished it and it looks nice.

Owl that camo is gonna be cool.

Borg that 88 looks like a really nice little kit.

I shot primer on mine last night. Will get camo on and then pics tonight.
