As it is the end of the year, it's time for the annual Pass in Review. These are all the models I finished this year. It is a very small number compared to my usual output, but I've had a ton of extra work and was gone for most of August on a road trip. Still, I'm very happy with the results.
Without further ado, my pass in review:
Heller 1/72 scale C-118 transport plane:
Military Wheels 1/72 scale Soviet SG-122:
Trumpeter 1/72 scale Russian SA-6 Gainful:
1/72 scale ACE Italian 508CN Coloniale Staff car:
1/72 scale Airfix British Airborne Jeep from the British Airborne Set:
It also came with a pallet to land this thing from aircraft. Here it is sitting on that pallet:
This Jeep above was also equipped with a trailer:
75mm Pack Howitzer from the Airborne set:
Here is the whole British Airborne Set together:
1/72 scale IBG Type 3 Chi Nu Medium Tank:
1/72 scale ACE BREM recovery vehicle:
1/72 scale Takom MAZ-537 Tractor:
1/72 scale Takom KZKT-537 Tractor:
Monogram 1/72 scale Space Shuttle with Boosters. I did her up as the Columbia:
1/72 scale IBG Models Hungarian Toldi II:
1/72 scale ACE Trattore Autocarro Sahariano AS.37:
1/72 scale ACE B-1 Centauro "wheeled tank":
1/72 scale ACE Hell Cannons:
1/72 scale ACE V-100 armored car:
1/72 scale ACE Centurion Mk.3
Modelcollect 1/72 scale NATO MAN Tractor with Pershing II missile:
Modelcollect 1/72 scale Austratt turret on Ostwind Fjord:
1/72 scale ACE Israeli Nagmachon:
So that makes a total of 21 models completed in 2019. Still pretty respectable. I'm exceptionally happy with that result; especially given all that's happened this year!
Thanks all for looking in. Now let's see all your 2019 models!

21!? Wow! And some pretty good sized ones there too! Like the Shuttle and the Gun Turret... not to mention the intricate ones like the Nagmachon (or however in hell that you spell it )
Looks to me like you had a very fine year

Mark, that is quite the output! All look great!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Re: Pass in Review: The Duke's 2019 Finished Models
Carlos, thanks! You are right, there were some large and intricate models in among that result which tended to take a bit longer than expected. The C-118 and Shuttle both fought me tooth and nail! Given that; and all the work and traveling I did in 2019, I did a very respectable amount of completions.
And yes, you spelled 'Nagmachon' correctly.
Thanks Medic! This is about half of what I usually finish in a year so for this past year; I know how you feel!
Thanks Floki! I am very happy with the C-118....once I got it beaten into submission.
Thanks Lyle! Now maybe I'll be able to finish more in 2020!
Thanks Johnny! I hope this year is as plentiful, if not more so.
Thanks Kevin! I am thrilled with the C-118 as well.

Re: Pass in Review: The Duke's 2019 Finished Models
There’s a wonderful moment in the book about the making of Heaven’s Gate (film by Michael Cimino director of The Deer Hunter) where the studio executives are scratching their heads about the script. They are trying to figure out what the movie is about and they aren’t really sure. The same day this happens, they receive the print of Raging Bull by Scorsese and they watch it wondering if this is going to be a hit or not. So they watch the movie... and in old Hollywood fashion they call Scorsese from the screening room and say: “You, sir, are an artist.”
So. Now you will have context as I write:
You, sir, are an artist.

Thank you Bruce, ever so much! That means the world to me coming from you. Especially given the artistry you yourself employ when making your 1/72 scale masterpieces. You always go above and beyond what I would do, making everything look that much better and thus; you Sir, are also an artist extraordinaire.
