Ok. Just know that the color used is not Olive Drab, but a much darker color called Helo Drab or Aircraft Drab. Xtracolor makes the proper shade in their enamel line, if you can still get those in the U.K. US Army Helicopters have been produced in this color since the early 80’s. Older Hueys, Cobras, Chinooks, and Kiowas were repainted during overhauls. I remember seeing both shades in use in the same unit up to the mid 80’s.

Thanks for the info Carlos - it's funny you should say that as I've been trying to do a bit of colour research between cooking a Meze this evening.

I've ordered this set...

On the subject of colour - I am right in thinking the cockpit would have been the same shade of Olive?

Cheers!

The cockpit will be one of two colors, possibly Dark Gull Gray, or more likely Flat Black. I’d have to check. Cockpits went to flat black for use with night vision goggles.

Thanks Gents - those were most helpful, brilliant in fact.

:hmm: That cockpit looks a lot more low tech than I'd imagined - perhaps the basic looking airfix cockpit isn't so bad after all - I'll post some photos soon (Feeling rather off colour at the moment - I think the pub lunch I had was a bit off)
