Mighty T,

You are indeed a superhero for those sprue shots are marvelous. ZM has progressed from colors to clears and now finds a beautiful monotone color for its latest masterpiece. You photographed these sprues so well! Thank you! I would like details of the engines, if possible?

What every has said! My little brain locks up at kits with 100 parts. Oh my. The detail and delicate molding is amazing.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Bruce, I´d love to know where this engine pic is from!
Will do some shots of the engine sprue, hopefully this weekend.

@ Lyle: no worries: if you only work on one sprue at a time you won´t reach 100 parts. But it´s this close...

Thomas,

The image is from a repair tear down manual that I included with my research for the 1/32 Rutman project. Here is another—

Honestly I would love to build this kit, so I look forward to your updates. The other area of some speculation for me when I was researching was the shape of the lower cowling. There are variations and I am curious to know how ZM approached this issue. My assumption is that the primary dimensions come from photo documentation. Here is an example of lower cowling differences—

Wow!! :wow: Such an impressive kit. I built the ESCI 1/48 version and it was a nightmare with very little in the way of detail. Can't wait to see more.

On special request by Bruce here are some detail shots of the engine sprue:

It´s a Zoukei-mura thing to have the pistons and rods in their engine halves to aid alignment.

Those engines are fantastically detailed and engineered. But unless they plan on doing a clear parts version, some of that detail leaves you wondering why... the engine cylinder pistons for example- they won’t be visible unless there is a clear cylinder casing.
