That rust at the edges looks very realistic. Did you use the hairspray methode?

Yes indeed ;). I put down a base coat of Krylon rust, then the hairspray, and then some Vallejo Russian green...After scrubbing the areas, I dry-brushed some Vallejo bull red in spots and added some pigment powders to toughen the texture a bit.

Man, I love these type of builds. I marvel at the work it takes to make them look like this.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks for looking and commenting guys! Haven't been able to get up there to finish this one and the Rally car...between lots of my son's Scout activities and the end of the school year...looking forward to vacation in a month or so ;)

Yeah, this can be a busy time of year. I miss doing the scouts thing with my son. Enjoy it while it lasts, they grow up too quickly.
