I don't mind it - I kind of like the Yellow.

I have to say I'm a bit blocked by this kit at the moment - I really want a nice colourful Tomcat sitting on my shelf but I don't have the painting skills to carry it off well. Perhaps I should get a couple of smaller USN birds to practice on.

Well the USN and USMC wore that scheme from around 1957 to 1980 or so. Low viz scheme experiments happened in Vietnam, but then really began to show up in the second half of the 70’s. If you want a smaller aircraft to try first, how about an A-4 Skyhawk? So many squadron markings, and versions to choose from.

That's pretty much what I was thinking Carlos - The little Airfix kit is a nice build IFRC.

Yes, doesn’t Airfix do a new tool 1/72 Skyhawk?

They do - an A-4B. I think Rex used to speak quite highly of it.

I’m looking at it now online. They have two boxing’s, but the original comes with some very nice markings. VA-15 with lots of mission marks and a “Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club” badge... I always loved that one...
