Monogram (c) 1957 HU-16 Albatros

Post by LyleW »

The good ol' raised rivet 1958 boxing of the Albatros. I have thought that I'd not build this one due to its age and vintage nature.....The more I think about it, though, I will likely build this kit but keep the box as an artifact. Had the parts still been on the sprue trees, I would probably just keep in as is.

Although all the parts have been removed from the sprue trees, I believe it is complete...

I can't imagine the decals will be useable, but they look to be in fair condition at this point....

Classic old style instructions....

Typical molding color for that age of kit. Typical Mongram instruction guide set up. Noticed the rubber band method on keeping the fuselage to together while it dries? Oh don't forget the lack of detailing for the cockpit with pilot/co-pilot area.

I've got an old Monogram or Revell kit in my stash. Started it a long time back then decided to stop due to the age of kit. Decals are pretty old bit not worth using.

Right, you are...no need for paint! Love the instructions, too.

Dig that old kit out...may be a old fart GB in here somewhere!

Interesting. Ferris did this kit years ago...sanded it all smooth and made it a party plane...maybe he can post a pic!

Very cool!

Hey, maybe you should move this to the aircraft WIP threads.
