Nice inytro to armour, and lovely results.
I'm another one who is not a fan of chiping, deffinetly over done. And keep in mind that these things were painted over their green/black scheme and didn't wear the sand for that long. And there is not much to brush up against in the desert to remove the paint. For weathering, i would just go with dust.sand, gets bloody every where.

Thanks all for the info about the chipping. I too am not a huge fan of heavily chipped armor, I was thinking like a couple of rub marks and maybe some wear around the hatches. Most of the other will be soot marks on the exhaust areas and maybe some oil leaks and dust and sand, maybe a couple of splashes from a mud puddle or two.
-Kari, the paints: based with Mr. Surfacer 1500 black. Then a base coat of MPR Sand. I then took several different shades of AK Real Color (UAE Sand, Iraqi Desert Sand, Buff, and some off-white) I will be using some AK Shaders, pigments and weathering powders from Tamiya.

Thanks guys, I'll take some more pics as I've started the process of adding some weathering. It's actually been quite fun trying new things.

It's always good to see some British armour being built, and that looks awesome!
