PROJECT:
REVELL (ex SpecialHobby) 1/48 Supermarine Seafire Mk. XV
No. 806 Naval Air Squadron
HMS Glory
British Pacific Fleet
September 1946
Hello all.
Normally, Im rarely seen in the plane corner. But its an aircraft forum and we have a '46 aircraft GB going on, right?!
I guess you know enough about that real classic plane called "Spitfire". Revell just reboxed the old SpecialHobby kit - so this should be a good start.
A few words about the quality: Its very good in shape (good panel lines, rivets etc.) but it has loads of flashes and the connection points are somehow awful in certain areas. Nothing a bit of patience and a sharp scalpel blade could solve, though. The cockpit has been started and will get some PE parts later (Eduard, Art.No. 49583). Those are meant for the Airfix F.XVII S.A. kit, but should fit here as well.
The first shots:
Those holes arent there and were drilled by hand:
Naaaaaarf!
No PE parts needed...

I almost missed this one. Sorry, Lucas! Kind of busy these days on my side.
Good progress on this build! We have the same kit in the stash and agree that it is a nice and worthy kit. Good looking Seafire when finished!

Nice work to this point, Lucas. Your talents cross over very well! Now, see if you can fit Miss Pointy Horns in there!!!!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Ha... good question. Those parts are tiny and really tricky. Unfortunately I didnt continue here until now - too much on the bench:
>the 1/8 figure
> the 1/72Me 262
and a "special plane" for a SciFi GB. Its pretty the same thing like the BSG Viper GB last year, but this time its all about Space Shuttles - this one will be converted into a special insect.
