Ok folks. I found a set of slicks I can live with from the Revell 68 Hemi Dart boxing. Looks like I might have to shave a tad out of the wheel openings but its all workable. I also robbed a set of rear wheels from that kit. The front wheels came from AMT's 37 Chevy Gasser kit and I'm still working on finding a shorter and more narrow front tire. I'll get there though.

Here's a couple of mock up shots:

Looking good so far. I can see where the trimming needs/might be done. Although would the tires be tucked underneath the body anyways?

Thanks Lyle!!

Tom: Thanks buddy! As far as the tires go , they do stick out a tad. Not much but not tucked in.

Went out to HL and picked this one up on clearance. In addition to having a spare 427 in the spares bin it had the PERFECT size front runners for what I was looking for in this build.

The score:

and the updated look with the replacement tires.....

Yeah......I'm definitely feelin' this!!!!!!

Thanks Kari!

After looking at reference photos a little closer, the Hemi that's in this 1:1 car is not supercharged but is Hillborn fuel injected. I've already ordered the appropriate resin intake manifold and aluminum intake stacks. Still using the Ross Gibson engine as a base though.

The manifold and stacks can clearly be seen through the rear glass in this shot: Hmm and looking at the hood a little closer I'm going to have to order a hood quick release pin set......... :hmm:

Nice shot - that's one cool looking car. Your mock up shot's look good - seems to capture the shape well.

Thanks Stuart!

Here's a quick video of the 1968 "Hemi Under Glass" Barracuda. Different year model but the same stunt. Enjoy.............
