Re: The Parnell putty pursuit plane
Every take-off has a landing...some are just better than others
Re: The Parnell putty pursuit plane
A lot of earlier marks actually got refitted with the new wing and canopy. When ever modelling a Parnell Putty Pursuit Plane one shuold check the refences by serial number and date. Because if the aircraft was refitted this must be taken into account.LaserEquippedShark wrote:I hate to be that guy, but that spinner is wrong. That's the early mark spinner..:if you note the shape of the canopy and the wing leading edges you can see this is a late war version. The correct spinner is available in white play-do if you care at all for accuracy that is.
And the white Play-do spinner is actually a myth, much like the purple Rufe. It was either sky blue like this one on earlier marks or a refitted mauve or taupe spinner. These late marks or refitts can be modeled with the long out of production mauve and taupe Play-do but these fetch crazy prices on Ebay.

This deserves a special place on the site! Love it.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
