accompanied with a cup of tea and some cookies, going slowly through the thread, looking at the really nice references images and WIP picts, and enjoying every single post ...

Thank you Monty. I am just now looking forward to getting the time that need to get this one wrapped up. So close...

Now that the holidays are over, things put away, and all visitors back where they came from, I got in a good couple of hours at my bench today. I worked on the base a bit, just a Czech flag for context, and airbrushed on a coat of Humbrol Matt Coat. I also had to scratch up a new antenna as the last one broke off when I failed to think ahead properly and left a box nearby that shifted when I took it to AMPS last month...

Anyways, here is the now Matt coated tank and on the base....

Next up, some dry brushing and light dust weathering on the running gear

Agree with BlackSheep! Also, using the Czech flag crushed flat or about to be crushed is a powerful and appropriate symbol as well as a focal point for the model! Bravo!

Thanks guys! Now with the flat coat on I am oh so close to the finish line.

Bruce, I think that the flag really makes the scene. So simple, yet quite the impact.

You're right. Simple—effective—and such a great way to focus on the subject due to the splash of color! Congratulations!

I figure a few more weeks and I can call this one done if things keep going at this rate.

You definitely capture the feeling of scenes like this by simply including the flag. That’s a pretty incredible statement!

Wow Carlos! What a poignant statement with that flag on the ground. Brilliant composition man!
