I managed to squeeze in a little bench time with a dry fitting session.

A sticker found under one of the wing parts. Interestingly to find it's molded in Poland



Flash on scoop piece. Nothing I can't fix



Very fine details in wheel gear wells.



Gun port holes out of alignment. ARRGGGHH!!

I dry fitted the fuselage together and it's obvious there are gap issues.

If you check some Revell Germany (then a company of its own) kits you will find "Made in Poland" on some of the boxes. I guess all development was done in Germany with the production done in Poland. Don´t know if this still happens today.

For a kit of this age I thinks the fit is as one might have expected. Also the flash is annoying but not impossible to get rid of. When finished you will be one of a few having this version of the Pony on the shelf!

A side tidbit - the building you see in the background of the last pic is the junior high school my son will be attending this September. So close, yet convenient enough. I encouraged my son to join any club sports team they have to offer. I know they have a STEM/robotics club there. I also told him if he needs to stay after school for extra help to do so.

I'm sure from under the those rivits and gaps a nice model will emerge!

I do like the B's though, a really nice looking aircraft (I'd like to build Ding Hao! one day) - what canopy does the kit come with, the orignal or the Malcolm hood Type?

That's a lot of flash and gaps! I'm sure you can tackle that without any problems.

Yeah it shouldn't be a biggie to tackle. Gonna pick up a tube of Perfect Putty at my LHS soon.

Perfect Putty? Have this on my bench, too. But I am not too excited about this putty. Easily fills a thin gap. It also dries rather fast if applied thin. But when dry it feels as a dried powder, not as hard as usual putty. I am not sure if it won´t flake away when one tries to engrave a panel line, for example, on this material. Nice to have, but not really a workable material when dried, IMHO.
