I'd also recommend the 1/48 Tamiya P-51D and the Airfix 1/72 Spitifre mk.IX - tow of the nicest kits I've ever built.
Thanks, Stuart. List updated above for Tamiya and Airfix kits. I am not familiar with Hobby Boss. What I could learn from amongst the Britmodeler brethren is summarized as:

Hobby Boss

1/72 Mig-3
1/72 Mig-15
1/72 Rafale
1/72 Sea Hawk

Would you comment on the above and let me know if you have any additions? I don't know much about their 1/48 offerings, with the exception of the 190 series Dora Series and Tank Series. I would not add any of those as beginner builds, but if you or anyone reading this would let me know what they think, I would be grateful!

I can only really comment on the 1/72 Mig-15 and Grumman Hellcat Bruce - both are great builds. Any one the 1/72 'Easy build' kits are good newbie fodder!

For 1/35 armor, I would say add all of Tamiya's T-34s (T-34/76 1942, T-34/76 1943, T-34/76 ChTZ, T-34/85) and M4A3s (M4A3 75mm & M4A3 105mm).

Thanks, Carlos. Armor section updates done!
