Pretty amazing work given the year...
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Yes, the models and special effects are dated now, but the series really was designed and produced to a high standard for its time.

The model shop where the E models were made. Period photo. The building is as far as I know still there.

Now THAT is where I want to work! LOL! What a sweet gig that would be!

I'm trying to identify the base model that the one guy is holding. Looks like it started life as some kind of helicopter before he modified it to whatever it is now.

We are modelers - the same in spirit, in hunger to insanely buy newly released kits, hustlers in hiding our stash from our better halves and experts in using garbage as replacements for after-market parts.

Duke! Duke! Duke!

I think that is Volmer Jensen holding his V-22 Sportsman prototype model without its wings. What do you think?

It looks pretty close Bruce, but I'm not sure. In the pic it looks like the tail is too small; almost like a helicopter's tail, and the body looks too fat. I could be wrong though. I do like his floatplane!

Mostrich/Torben! Hullo. Yes. Big. I was actually testing my phone upload yesterday. I was going to respond to Duke’s Valley Con thread and my connection was pitifully low. Big Gray Lady:
