Does the 1/24 Airfix Spitfire qualify?

Yep - but I don't have that one but :hmm: I DO have the 1/24 Harrier (which I've just ordered a resin cockpit for).

That's a really nice build actually - I love the straps on the pilot.

I have a later boxing but yep - that's the one. A good friend of mine bought it for me years ago. I really should build it as I think he was quite keen to see it done.

I am also quite keen to see you build the 1/24 Harrier Stuart! Is yours a later boxing the GR.1, or one of the later revamps. I could swear that they later made a 24th scale Sea Harrier and GR.3 after the Falklands War.

Yes I'm going to have to crack on with it - it'd be great to show him it.

I have the most recent boxing (sorry for the thread-jack Bruce). I can build a GR.1, a GR.3 and an AV-8A with my kit. And yes, there is also a Sea Harrier kit.

It's actually not that bad a kit, but just off it's time. The detail is pretty crap and there are a lot of issues with the fit. It most definitely needs a resin cockpit, and intakes (Which I have).

Sounds like their 1/48 Harriers. They revamped some stuff for the Sea Harrier FA.2, but the GR.3 and Sea Harrier FRS.1 have the same shortcomings. BUT... they are better than the Tamiya 1/48 Harrier kits (shocking but true!). But the Airfix kits are a tad bit newer.

Stuart and Carlos, you are always welcome to discuss anything here; I learn more about kits and subjects from you both this way. TGIF

Starting over... it was easy to do and easy on the mind once the decision was made to do it. I already pulled/sawed/sliced everything off and re-sanded the body shell smooth.

Based on reference, I need to make a backing "plate" from thin plastic which will attach via two posts to the body shell. the twin exhausts exiting each side of the car are simple tubes out of scale with the pipes of the actual vehicle (fixable?) and lead to the heat shield which looks like a thin rectangle. What the added backing does is allow for the addition of the trim edge that goes all the way around the exhausts. if the exhaust pipes are undersized the trim seems oversized (adjust?).

Any thoughts how to achieve these pieces? I wanna get this one done.

Thanks in advance for looking; i sincerely appreciate the help. TGIF
