Thanks, Mark!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: The Love Bug Rides Again
Thank you, Kari! You made them look good!

Thank you, Kevin. I appreciate that coming from one who has probably spent way too much time crawling around under these. Starting on the chassis and all that fun-ness.pzl66 wrote:Very accurate engine and transmission there Lyle!
Spent a couple of hours detailing the shifter....then broke if off and reglued it. I am nothing if not predictable.

Re: The Love Bug Rides Again
Excellent work right there! Yeah spent just a hair more than I wanted working on these! What is funny is shifter bushings would break on the real thing so you are really getting the VW experience with this kit too! Lol

Well, that is/those are experiences I don’t need. Right now the VW is in time out. Shifter is off yet again and in protective custody. Muffler popped off and I had enough for today.

Re: The Love Bug Rides Again
Lyle I've used bobby pins for shifters before and it works like a charm and looks cleaner too. You can bend the pin in any shape that you want and they even come with a nice shifter knob on the top. A little light sanding on the bobby pin "shifter knob" gets rid of the seam line and you're in business.
With a little artistic license you can also do fun stuff like an 8 ball like I did on my '54 Chevy Panel Wagon. Just sayin......

Joe, that is a great idea! Like the 8-ball, but I thought ki was doin*good to paint it white! Spent some time today trying to figure out how to get a decent speedometer image down to the size I need.
