Here is my latest model finished this month. This is the Monogram 1/72 scale Space Shuttle with Boosters. I did her up as the Columbia:
This model is over two feet tall. I placed a 12" ruler next to this model to show how big this is:
This thing had been a problem sitting on my workbench for the longest time. I'm so thrilled to have finished it! Now I have a different problem: Where am I gonna put this?

Re: The Duke's Space Shuttle
Man that thing is huge!!! Nice work Duke!! I've been wanting some sort of shuttle kit for the longest time. Maybe I'll find one at the show next week.

Absolutely fantastic build and a fantastic result !
It is huge! Have you already bulldozed some space for it in your home ?

Re: The Duke's Space Shuttle
Now, that is a 1/72 (?) scale I could see! Well done, sir. Well done. Now, let's see it in 1/48.....

Re: The Duke's Space Shuttle
Medic, thanks! Yes, it is huge! As for a shuttle kit for yourself, there is a 1/144 scale Space Shuttle out there that you might want, unless you want to go big like this one. The nice thing is there is a 1/144 scale Space Shuttle kit....with the Launch Tower!
Bruce thanks! Always a pleasure to see your posts!
Blacksheep thanks! It is a great feeling to finally finish this!
Kari thanks! I haven't yet; I'm still trying to find some prime real estate to bulldoze for this. Until then, it is still sitting on my paint booth.
Thanks again everyone for the awesome replies!

Lyle, thanks for the compliment, and yes, it is 1/72 scale and you could easily see this. However, I don't do 1/48 scale, except on commissions. I'll leave that to you professionals.LyleW wrote:Now, that is a 1/72 (?) scale I could see! Well done, sir. Well done. Now, let's see it in 1/48.....

Sweet! Very well done Mark!
Now how about a photo of it posed next to your 1/72 Saturn V.

LOL! I would love to! Unfortunately, I haven't the space for this as it is; finding someplace to assemble the Saturn V and pose it next to this is quite impossible at this time. Maybe someday I'll bring them both to a show where neither has been seen yet... San Diego comes to mind, but I might have shown the Saturn down there. I'll have to check.Stikpusher wrote:Now how about a photo of it posed next to your 1/72 Saturn V.

Re: The Duke's Space Shuttle
I wonder if anybody makes Mercury Redstone, Mercury Atlas, and Gemini in 1/72? I think you need an X-15 to round out the US manned space craft collection...
