My choice for this group build. One of my favorite television shows during the 70's, Starsky and Hutch - the red tomato himself...

There’s two knocks I have on this kit... mostly molded in red while other trees (undercarriage parts) are molded in black. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I would have rather they be molded in white. Oh well... :bored:

A quick question for Joe. I found some Zero paint at Hobby World USA website and saw they have Starsky & Hutch Bright Red paint for the Torino. Will lacquer thinner work to thin for airbrush use and cleaning my airbrush?

Is it lacquer or polyurethane? If so yes.

Upon further reading by going to Zero Paints website, they say they're solvent based and airbrush ready - meaning no thinning needed. Primer is a MUST though.

Bring it!! Welcome aboard to the GB Tom!! Sorry I was late to this I could've answered your question for you. Like us, Ol' Lee has a good understanding of paint behaviors as well. Will be watching for progress and I'm interested in seeing how these Zero Colors work out for you.

Zero Paints need a tough primer because they're the hottest modeling paint you can get. In the end they're just car lacquer paint filled in small bottles. They can eat styrene and are able to suck the dye out of colored styrene. I've seen pictures where they even ate through acrylic primer. Maybe there's a reaction with the softener of the plastic involved.
But it all depends on the quality of the styrene and how old the kit is. Modern injection molded kits should be more resistant.
