It's funny that Z-M does strange things and like you said, it works out for them and everyone loves it. Kinda like their F-4's. They have a major shape issue at the back on the sides near the engines and no one even remotely cares.Floki wrote:That does have quite the wing span. I don't under stand why ZM does some things but it seems to work out for them

I'm wondering if the prop shaft is tied to the front of the engine. I don't think so as there is an annular radiator part that goes in front but I'll have to check it out to make sure.

Can't help with your question John but that engine looks fantastic!

Actually... I have no realistic option of buttoning up the fuselage without the engine unless I'm ok with showing the aircraft with no exhaust pipes.

I have no clue about the prop shaft. I’m just here to say that engine looks amazing.

Thanks Kenny! I'm looking for opportunities to allow for removable panels but I have a feeling this won't work out and the engine will be covered up. I want to preserve the beautiful lines of this fighter so I'll sacrifice the view of the engine if I can't get the cowlings to sit right.

Re: 1/32 Zoukei-Mura Ta152H-1 White 7
Continuing the dry-fit session with the radiator cowling reminded me that the engine will need to be installed since it holds exhaust pipes.
I snapped the engine into place to check the cowling fit. The engine assembly does not want to sit correctly on its own without glue. However the top cowling pushes the engine into the correct position. There is a possibility that I can perhaps glue ONE of the two engine side cowlings into place and have the other one removable. We'll just have to see when that time comes.
The wing spar has been glued into the wing bottoms. I had to shave the back edge of the spar where it butts up against the PE flaps.
I glued the upper flaps onto the upper wings using 2-part epoxy. The roof of the wheel wells have been painted and I've applied the stencil decal from the Eagle Cal decal sheet.

The long wings of the Ta152H have been glued together.
There is some cleanup work required around the many joints so I'm going to set this aside for now. A closure look at the wheel wells. I've cut the barrels off of the wing guns and will be replacing them with brass tubing.
A look at the painted upper flaps...
