I'd be afraid to try it myself too. Then again, if I had spare cowlings, I'd do a practice run on them.

The kit did come with two sets of cowlings. I may have to try on the spare ones.

Adding PE to the gear legs. Just trying to do little things until I have time to start painting.

On radial engines, do you add the wiring harness before or after painting the actual engine.

I prefer to work with wire rather than PE, but I’ll paint the engine first, then add the wiring.

I recognize the color of the Academy plastic immediately. It's similar to the slightly greenish grey that Revell uses but a bit darker.
