Testors (Hawk) Fieseler Fi-103

Post by Stikpusher »

This is the second build of this set, which are a rebox of the old Hawk kits. I built the Okha back in December 2015.

I actually built the V-1 not too long afterward, but never painted it. So yesterday while I was going thru moving boxes of my model stuff, I came upon this old kit and pulled it out to finish up. I knew that I would be airbrushing another project, so figured that I would airbrush this one too afterwards.

I used Tamiya colors with Mr Levelling Thinner and did and finished this up in a short few sessions with a bit of masking to replicate sub assemblies painted at different locations.

The kit even comes with a translucent orange piece of “flame” to represent the jet exhaust...

So I had to pose it outside against a sky backdrop... and our graphic artist expert Bruce here edited away the stand for a couple “in flight” images

“Tally Ho!”

Why not have some fun?

Man, I love okra. Especially when it is fried! Good and Goode.

Those little rascals can’t a high parts count. Looks good.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Superb little build Carlos - nicely done!

My great grandmother used to tell me about those things, she said they scared the shit out of her far more than anything else during the war. They used to watch them fly over praying that the engine wouldn't go silent!

More so apparently, than when her house was buzzed by a German Bomber being chased by two Spitfire!

I have a Tamiya buzz bomb in the stash. Not many parts.
Your little Testors turned out sweet!
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting the head off a Hydra, two more take it’s place.

Yes, I think it barely had over a dozen parts... maybe 20 max...

I can only imagine being on the receiving end... but least these could be defended against, shot down by AAA or fighters... the V-2... no defense possible.

Yes, I want to get the Tamiya V-1. At least it is accurate and has the movement dolly for use as a display stand.

Now all you need is a Spit or Tempest to tip its wing
