Airscale is awesome but it still takes skill to pull off the look you have, wonderful!

Great pictures Bruce

Great reference photos Bruce!
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

That's a beautiful instrument panel, Bruce! But I don't think it is associated with Yellow 10 but an independent D-13 instrument panel restoration. I used photos of this one and the photos in Jerry Crandall's Dora book of the restored Yellow 10 panel as a painting guide.

Returning to the wooden flaps... first, the recessed panel lines were filled. I used black CA so that I could still use the lines as a guide for placing the decals. Only two colors this time, white and off-white.

I am going to use another wood decal pattern that has more grain detail.

I like this a little better than the initial try and much better than the decals that Eagle Editions supplies.

That looks a lot better. No comparison, really. The colors and wood grain are far more realistic.

Oh yeah, much better!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks guys! I've since darkened the wood flaps slightly by spraying a light coat of clear red...

Although I have no idea how the wood flaps were treated on operational aircraft, the latest edition matches the D-13 restoration a little better...
