So I don't forget.
Basic rules?
1. Anything that is a model kit from the 50s through 1970.
2. If you find and build a Speed-i-bilt B-25 you automatically win.
3. Build must be out of the box.
A. NO Photoetch
B. No Aftermarket - except decals and paint masks

Build it as it was meant to be.

Boy this is a tough one... pre 1970, got a few. But no AM aside from decals and masks (how many masks exist for kits of that vintage?), and the kit must be OOB.... that means no scratch work to improve the kit :nono: Booooooooooo! That really limits what I have onhand that would qualify. Can the kit be a rebox of an older kit that has not had its molds changed since original release in1970 or before?

Some scratch work? Okay. A lot of this remains to be fleshed out. I think OOB would be the way to go...for the fun of it and to see how the old kits come together. To be true to the intent, reboxing would be a no-no...unless it was to add new decals. No retooling.

So you're basically saying, build it how you would have built it during the 1970s?

Open for some discussion, but...use the skills you have. Build it as best as you can, OOB.

Hmmm.... I do have an old kit but have thought about handing it off to Cherrylock. I trust him to build it than myself.

I agree with Carlos, it is a tough one to find a kit that qualifies. Lemme look around and see what I have.

Yeah, they can be hard to find. I have four that fit.

I do have another (around 1950 era) but it’s a hot mess right now. I tried to build it but stopped while I was ahead. Plastic too brittle, wings’ hinge points broken off, decal shot to hell, parts don’t fit right. Best I leave it as is.

Best part, it hasn’t been painted yet.

I have a number of candidates for this one.

I think I will skip this one. I do have a few old kits but I have plans for some extensive scratchbuilding for them.
