Bruce, one technique I’ve read about, but not tried yet myself, for lettering is using ray transfers onto clear decal film. Line the lettering/numbers up as needed onto decal film, then applying that grouping onto the subject once completed.

Why? I mean really, why? Does anyone know the story behind this???
- Another great project, Bruce. The weathering opportunities are sheer endless.

The two train workers had finally finished their booze fueled idea. Ralph told his buddy, “Fred, light her up! Hold my beer!”mostrich wrote: Why? I mean really, why? Does anyone know the story behind this???
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Bruce, HO is only slightly smaller than my preferred scale, so with that in mind:"Welcome to my world"! You are doing truly magnificent work! I am so enjoying this trip on the Pearl Harbor Railroad.

Duke,
Your scale work is an inspiration to me. I spend a lot of time circling a build like a cat circling a saucer of milk and you dive right in. Never forget how inspiring your attitude alone is to those of us struggling, and your ability to overcome obstacles is quite legendary. Truly. Onward! My father was also interested in HO but in narrow gauge which is HOn3, running on N scale tracks. I think I have posted his work in brass, but this is quite beautiful:
In this case, the tender is the drive mechanism and uses a floating shaft. Hidden beneath the load of firewood is a slot car motor.

I ordered the correct trucks - the US Navy ordered modified brakes!
