A Big Kitty

I thought it would be time to start the Airfix 24 scale F6F-5. So far I think it is a fairly decent kit and I have searched out reviews on it before I bought it. I started the pit today and I am pretty much in the paint phase and throwing some washes on it. I am making this a three or four month build since I would like to have it done before the April show here in Tulsa.

I'll be adding paint tomorrow as well or maybe tonight. I'm so indecisive.... :hmm:

That will be a big one! Great details in the pit at that scale. All out of the box?

Not really. I have extras that I'll use but the high dollar extra that I have, the Airscale interior, I may think twice. Ill have to see.

Wow! This will be a fun one to follow since it is so big and detailed! Interested to see the Airscale stuff, so hopefully you'll use it!

Great to see this big kitty on the bench!

I have read mostly positive things of this Hellcat kit, tempted to build one as well.. but where to put it... at this moment mission impossible, so double-up nice to be able virtually follow your build Paul !

Happy that your back and building here once again! I will be following this for sure. I recently discovered a Trumpeter 1/32 F6F5-5N kit I had forgotten about with a Big Ed set for it. This might be what gets on my bench soon. I will be interested in how you do your humongous bird as your work is always stellar
