.50 cal waist gun Mods. I know, I know, nobody will see it. Well... did you ever think that one day a flak burst might peel open that fuselage like a banana? :hmm: Truth is, I just enjoy doing stuff like that. It's good practice.

The .50's look good Chris!

here are the shots I took of the .50 cal. waist guns in "Sentimental Journey" when I went inside her a couple of years ago in Mesa.

It looks like later on that the waist guns were equipped with reflector sights instead of ring & post iron sights.

Thanks for the ref photos Carlos. Looks like something is missing? How did they cock those things?

The .50 is ambidextrous... it can be set up for right or left hand feed. When that is done, the charging handle is moved to the opposite side of the feed side, since the feed tray or ammo chute could otherwise interfere with the charging handle.
