Looks like a great start!

Thanks guys! It’s coming along well so far.
You ought to be able to find a replacement 20mm barrel from some AM company… or even scratch build one easily using styrene rod sanded to shape…
Chris, I built one or two of those long ago as well. Come to think of it, those were probably the only 1/48 Spitfires that I ever built until my first 1/48 Academy Spitfire came along.

Nice work on the XIVe! I like the interior green color.

Thanks John. I used Tamiya's Cockpit Green XF-71. Even though it is a color for Japanese aircraft, it is very close to RAF interior green, and to my eye is an acceptable substitute.

Right, I have work up to it though since most of the painting was already done when I dropped itStikpusher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 10:06 am Thanks guys! It’s coming along well so far.

Ouch! I’ve lost plenty of parts, but usually before painting…

Re: Academy 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XIVe
Now that I have several other projects wrapped up, this one is back as my focus point.
I have finished up painting of the interior parts and salvaged a late war RAF PE seat harness off an older scrapped build.
next up, get this all installed and get the fuselage closed up...

Looking good Stik. Didn't realize until just now she's a recon bird. Even more interesting
Thanks,

Cockpit looks great, Carlos!
Does your kit come with a small part on fuselage bottom underneath the rear edge of the canopy? It looks like a semi-circle in profile with a little pipe sticking out pointing rearward. Doing some research on my XIVe conversion, I noticed it on the plane that I am planning to model...
Just trying to figure out what it is and what it looks like so I can add it to my build.
