Got this email from Tamiya. Pretty excited about the F-35B
Sneak Peek!
1/48 Lockheed Martin® F-35®B Lightning Ⅱ®
Item 61125
We have some exciting news for our aircraft modeling fans today! After the successful release of the 1/48 scale Lockheed F-35 A Lightning II kit, we are officially announcing the follow-up kit, the F-35 B Lightning II.
1/48 Grumman FM-1 Wildcat/Martlet Mk.V™
Item 61126
Based upon our popular 1/48 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat (Item 61034), this kit authentically recreates the FM-1 featuring four machine guns with both the U.S. Navy and Royal Navy markings and one sitting pilot figure.
Both kits are scheduled to be released in late November! We will be updating our website at the end of the week with all the key features on these two exciting new kits!

Seems like Tamiya finally went off from their "one variant per decade"-policy. Cool!

I knew that they had to do the F-3B. After all, the JMSDF will be using the type off of their new carriers, oops, I mean helicopter destroyers
The FM-1 sounds nice as well. All they need to do is replace the wings on their F4F-4 kit, as that is pretty much the only difference. One new sprue. I’m surprised that they waited so long to do anything with the F4F, as most of their other 1/48 fighter kits had simple variant changes: Spitfire I & V; F4U-1, -1A, -1D; FW-190A-3, A-8, F-8…
